Integrations content quick wins
Applying UX content principles as a heuristic tool to enhance usability and accessibility
Background
As I worked on the bulk Google Ads integration project, I began to notice opportunities for the content design of our existing integration templates to better match our new content guidelines. While wanting to be mindful of adhering to scope for that project, I nonetheless kept a log of those opportunities so that I could pitch quick wins in my role as UX content lead.
How it came together
Once I had identified a handful of possible quick wins, I worked with our Principal Product Manager (the integrations-area product owner) to vet, scope, and prioritize each update before tackling them one-by-one. The key focus in this work was applying the content principles I had developed as a heuristic evaluation tool for applying rigor to content design decisions.
Sharing the results
I presented these slides to CallRail’s executive leadership team at our 2023 Q2 Quarterly Business Review to demonstrate the work I was doing to systematically elevate content in our product. This presentation helped drive higher adoption of content guidelines and opened the door to deeper conversations with other departments, including Product Marketing.
